Why would anyone want to update firmware? So far have played region 2 & 4, as well as Region 1. Region code hack posted by techie73, March 12 2014: To check the region: Power on with no disc inside Press HOME on the remote Enter 8520 The BluRay & DVD region will be shown along with a lot of other device info. There will be no screen notification that the keys were entered correctly. To set the DVD region: Power on with no disc in tray Press HOME on the remote Enter 1389310 The last digit 0 is the region number you want to set it to. It was entered with the remote that came with player. The code will only change the DVD region and not the BluRay region. The player was updated to firmware v2.15.
